The food has always been pretty good, the service is usually excellent, and the restaurant is usually very clean and well staffed.
Maybe has the best coffee in the city, absolutely love it. Would return just for that. -

The food has always been good during each visit. Our servers have always been professional and accommodating to our little one. Aesthetically the interior is worn and tired. It wouldn't stop me from returning but it should be noted by management.

My wife and I had lunch at Sorrentinos on Calgary Trail. As it was a nice day, we had our meal on the patio where there are tables nicely shaded by patio umbrellas. There is also a HUGE umbrella under a cover that we were told spans much of the open corner of the patio, however it was out of commission, but would likely be quite impressive.
As we've previously had the various offering from the normal lunch menu asked for the lounge menu which offered a Short Rib PANINO with asiago cheese, roasted tomato, horseradish aioli which we both ordered.
The sandwich came with a basket of nicely cooked and crispy fries (Mista or Ceasar salad were the other choices).
The sandwich was delicious! Generous portions of tender beef, melted chunks of cheese, and sliced tomatoes served on what appears to be a homemade focaccia-like bread, likely made from the same dough as their pizza.
Service was efficient and friendly, with the waitress returning to fill our glasses of ice water and offering fresh ground pepper and a sprinkling of grated parmesan. -

Pasta dishes are generally very good. Their mushroom menu in September is delicious, though relies a bit too heavily on tons of butter (admittedly delicious but could use a lighter touch). Friend I was with said the lasagne was the best he'd ever had. The steak was nothing special however, and the bread and oil they serve while you wait is mediocre (on both counts).
They have menu specials each weekday; for example, Mondays are pizza + beer for $20, Tuesdays are pasta + wine for $20. You can find the most recent list on their website. I'm sad they offer very few Canadian wines though.
Overall I've been happy sticking to the pasta dishes, other things I've tried have been less good. -

This was my first visit and hubby's second. Let me start by saying our server Angela deserved 5 stars! She was awesome!
We sat in a booth in the lounge which was cozy and quiet. I loved that we had the choice of sparkling or still water, this always wins points in my book. I ordered a Bellini (Italiano) which was $2 off on Sunday's and hubs had a beer. The complimentary fresh bread and spicy dipping oil was a nice touch.
I ordered Insalata Milanese with salmon. The salad was very good; fresh greens, dried figs, tomato, big chunks of Gorgonzola cheese, pine nuts and a nice light vinaigrette. Very good flavours, but I found the added salmon was a very meagre portion for the price.
Hubby had Pollo Parmigiana, not overly breaded, tender & juicy with a side of penne and a creamy tomato sauce. Delish! Again, perhaps a bit pricey. But a lovely meal overall.
